We’re thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker for Rise Up! is none other than Adura Onashile. An award-winning Glasgow-based theatre artist and filmmaker, her screen debut, "EXPENSIVE SHIT," premiered at BFI London Film Festival 2020 and earned a BAFTA nomination. Adura's debut feature, "GIRL," which she wrote and directed, premiered at Sundance Festival 2023, opened the Glasgow Film Festival 2023, and won the Narrative Feature Prize at the Black Star Film Festival 2023.

Cabaret
Join us for an eclectic night of artistic exploration and expression! Intertwining spoken word, music, comedy and dance. The cabaret will showcase spoken word, music, and dance. The cabaret showcases the talents of dancer Kristin Weichen Wong, spoken word artist Phoenix Archer, rising comedian Ayo Adenekan and the innovative music of Tehillah Sihlabela, known as 1000Trees. Top it all off with some delicious food courtesy of some special guests and this is sure to be an evening to nourish the soul.
