We Are Here Scotland is proud to team up for the first time with Celtic Connections and proudly present: Aref Ghorbani, Simone Seales and Miwa Nagato-Apthorp.

Join cellist Simone Seales, folk-inspired artist Miwa Nagato-Apthorp, and Iranian fusion musicians Aref Ghorbani and Amir Hossein Feyzi for an extraordinary night of collaboration. 

Seales, a Glasgow-based performance artist, brings a powerful sense of play and improvisation, infusing emotional depth and social consciousness influenced by Black feminist thinkers. Nagato-Apthorp, from the Scottish Borders, adds a storytelling element rooted in folk traditions, exploring themes of home, climate, and womanhood. Ghorbani and Feyzi, blending Persian and contemporary music styles, draw on experiences of migration and cultural diversity, bringing haunting melodies and poetic fusion. 

Together, these artists create a unique, cross-cultural soundscape celebrating the shared stories, resilience, and beauty of diverse voices. This concert promises an evening of unity, creativity, and cultural discovery.
